TED conferences (TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design) are not widely known. These conferences gather exceptional people from all over the world and dozens of them are given 20 minutes to talk about their passion. As you can guess, this may be something worth seeing. Fortunately few of this year’s talks are available online, as audio and video - at TED Talks. I recommend going there, as some of the talks are truly outstanding. Also, I believe that all you’ll find there today is not all material planned for release this year - video files are appearing in blocks of two or three every couple of weeks.
One short note, if you’ve already seen some of these talks. If you want to attend, plan it rather at 2008 because registration for 2007 event is closed already for couple of months.
